Our story
A slipstream is the pocket of low pressure behind a moving car. Sit in it and you travel faster using less energy.
Why I go by Slipstream
- That is effortless motion, and it is the sound and the posture in one word.
- Everyone else fights the air, and I sit in the pocket it leaves behind.
- Styling it would read as effort, and effort is the one thing the name is meant to drop.
- F1 speed, Daytona energy, night city lights, black cars, chrome, rain, tunnels.
How I make a song
- A song starts with a beat.
- I freestyle nonsense over it, sounds with no meaning, until the melody shows up and I learn where the words want to sit.
- The hook gets written before anything else, and it gets written several times.
- Hooks stay simple and replayable. Verses keep the rap pocket.
- I record and mix in FL Studio, with Auto-Tune Evo on the vocal.
- When a song is finished, the FL Studio project goes up on this site, free to download, and the lyrics go up next to it.
